This memorial would originally have been installed in the George Street HQ of Bath Post Office, later being moved to the building on the corner of New Bond Street at Northgate when that opened in the late 1920s. It moved again within the premises when the PO counters moved to the Green Street end of the building in relatively recent times.
The inscription:
